At least 25 martyred, over 96 injured in Peshawar mosque suicide blast




PESHAWAR: Eighteen people were martyred and over 96 injured in a powerful suicide blast inside a mosque in Police Lines area of Peshawar on Monday, security and health officials told PEEN News.


According to security officials, the suicide bomber was in the front row during the prayer when he blew himself up, injuring dozens of worshipers who were performing the noon prayer.


The injured were shifted to Peshawar's Lady Reading Hospital.


The spokesman of the hospital said that 25 people were killed in the blast and more than 96 injured have been brought to the hospital. Doctors said that the condition of more than 10 injured is critical.


The hospital has appealed to the citizens to donate blood for the victims.
